Why we do what we do: how the concept of Predispositions helps our understanding
Chapter 5 explores the territory of personality by considering the question, “Why do we do what we do?” Our approach to analysing personality in terms of ‘Predispositions’, i.e. preferred or natural behaviours and motivations, is explored in depth. From an organisational perspective, ‘personality sucks’. This is because organisations require people to deliver certain specific behaviours rather than their underlying personality.
